Conor McGregor’s punch sends Miami Heat mascot to hospital

In an unexpected turn of events during Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Miami Heat mascot Burnie ended up in the emergency room after being punched by UFC legend Conor McGregor. The incident occurred during a promotional stunt that quickly escalated, with McGregor landing a powerful left punch that knocked Burnie to the ground.

According to The Athletic, the actor who wore the Burnie costume was treated with painkillers and has since been released to recover at home. The sketch, which was meant to be humorous, with Burnie dressed in boxing gear to “challenge” McGregor, caught attention on social media after the mascot was quickly overpowered by the fighter.

The brawl began when Burnie playfully approached McGregor, who responded with a powerful punch that knocked the mascot down, followed by another blow.

Adding to the night’s woes, the Miami Heat lost the game to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 108-95, giving Denver a 3-1 series lead. The Nuggets are now set to close out the series in the upcoming Game 5 on their home court.

Burnie, a fixture of Miami Heat culture since the team’s founding in 1991, is currently in his 32nd season as the team’s beloved mascot.
